Fourth studio album by Kings Of Leon. It has on it the hit songs 'Use Somebody' and 'Sex On Fire'.
This album is a lot different from all their old stuff, mostly because you can understand better what they're saying! They are still the same great band though. They have also, dare I say it, improved slightly. They have always been a very talented band but as they have gone through their albums, as most band, you can hear the improvement. Along with the new album also came new haircuts! Caleb Followill now has short hair! The kings have become really big in England now with this new album and was number one in the UK album charts.
Only by the Night received a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 51st Grammy Awards with the single "Sex on Fire" receiving two nominations for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song. At the 52nd Grammy Awards the song Use Somebody was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. (Thank you Wikipedia! :D)
Most the songs have a very laid back feel to them and I very rarely get tired of listening to them! My personal favorite on the album is 'Notion'. It is definitely a wise investment in this album. What I love about this album is that with some bands all the songs are either really happy all the time or just depressing, Kings Of Leon seem to hit the right sort of thing with OBTN. None are particularly depressing but then they aren't overwhelmingly happy like Disney. So the perfect mix that pretty much everyone enjoys. I've only met two people who don't like them much but that was after I had insulted their favorite band, The Jonas Brothers...
So yeah buy it definitely it'll be worth your money.
Alis x
PS: I will get better at this! Give me time :) Thank you
